Edward Dimsdale Photography

Edward Dimsdale (born 1965) is an artist, photographer, and a Senior Lecturer on both BA (Hons) Photography and MA Photography at London College of Communication.
After studying social sciences at the University of Bristol, Edward spent time assisting photographers and in darkrooms as a photographic printer before working as a freelance photographer. He also spent ten years working at The Photographer’s Gallery in London, in the bookshop, research library and technical departments.

Edward teaches history and theory of photography on the BA (Hons) and MA Photography courses. He holds an MA in Printmaking from The Cambridge School of Art, developing contemporary applications for photogravure. He has exhibited widely, and his work is held in numerous collections, both public and private.
Edward’s research interests include: critical and contextual histories of the medium; the photo book; photogravure; and the relationship between photography and live performance.
