Jason Larkin (born 1979) is a British photographer internationally recognized for his long term social documentary projects and environmental portraiture. His immersive process and slow approach allow for comprehensive bodies of work that reveal and frame important social, economic and political issues. His work is often concerned with contextualizing present realities through historical legacies. Larkin has published four monographs, Cairo Divided (self-published, 2011); Tales From The City Of Gold (Kehrer, 2013); Platinum (Fourthwall, 2015); and Waiting (Photoworks, 2015). His long-running project Past Perfect was widely recognized with awards, including the PDN New Portraiture Award in 2011. Recent exhibitions include the Museum of Photography Braunschweig (Germany), and Hyeres Photography & Fashion Festival (France). His work is held in the permanent collections of the Haggerty Museum (USA), The Museum of Fine Arts Houston (USA) and Johannesburg Library Collection (South Africa).
