Gustavo Minas was born in Cassia, Minas Gerais, in 1981. He lives and works in Brasilia. Gustavo studied photography under Carlos Moreira, probably the most influential street photographer in Brazil. He is also a member of street photography collectives ‘SelvaSP’ and ‘Vivo’.

About his ‘Limites’, he says: ‘Limites’ is a never ending project about the neighborhoods between rural and urban areas in the outskirts of Cassia, the city I was born in the Brazilian countryside. I’ve been working on it since 2010. Though these are not the barrios I grew up in, I was attracted by how people still spend their time on the streets there, the way neighbors interact and children still play outdoors, which reminds me of my own childhood.
